The Difference Between Pressure and Responsibility
July 20, 2026
I do not really believe in pressure-free business from the owner’s seat. When you own a company, the fate of that company and the people connected to it rests heavily on your shoulders. That is real. It is not something I want to pretend away with pretty language. But there is a difference between carrying responsibility and creating pressure for other people. Responsibility says, I need to make wise decisions. I need to care about quality. I need to protect trust. I need to build systems that help people succeed. Pressure says, hurry, perform, prove, push, and make someone else carry anxiety that does not belong to them.
Those are not the same thing. I want Botanic to be built with responsibility, not pressure tactics. That means caring about the distributors who are building independent businesses with their own customers and reputations. It means making choices that support them without turning everything into hype. Responsibility can be heavy, but it can still be honest. That is the kind of leadership I want to practice.
With love and intention,
Jennifer
